Vertical Solar Module Mounting Solutions

Key vertical mounting methods

Traditional rooftop or ground mounting is only one option. SoliTek offers innovative vertical mounting solutions that allow solar energy to be generated where it previously seemed impossible. Vertical installation not only saves space but also serves as a modern architectural highlight.

  • Solar Facades (BIPV): Turn building walls into power plants. The SOLID Wall solution allows modules to be mounted directly onto the facade, replacing traditional cladding. This is an excellent choice for commercial and industrial buildings with limited roof space and to improve the building's energy efficiency class.
  • Noise Barriers: Solar modules can serve as effective sound insulation walls along highways, railways, or noisy industrial zones. This dual-purpose solution suppresses noise while generating green energy for infrastructure needs.
  • Solar Fences: Turn your property fence into an electricity generator. Vertically mounted bifacial modules take up minimal space, are extremely durable (glass-glass construction), and generate energy from both direct and reflected light.

  • Vertical Ground Systems: When land is limited or used for farming (Agrivoltaics), vertical structures allow machinery to pass freely and crops to grow between rows. This method is especially effective in winter when the sun is low and snow does not accumulate on the modules.
  • Vertical Installation on Flat Roofs: An innovative way to utilize roof space when standard structures are blocked by technical units (ventilation, AC systems). Vertical "walls" help balance production peaks in the morning and evening.
  • Exterior Elements and Partitions: Solar modules can be used as modern design elements – gazebo walls, balcony railings, or property partitions. Esthetically pleasing black-glass or semi-transparent modules provide a futuristic look and functionality.

Why choose vertical mounting?

  • Maximum production stability: Vertical modules better utilize the low sun in early morning, late evening, and during the winter season.
  • Snow and dust prevention: Snow, dust, or leaves do not accumulate on vertical surfaces, making maintenance extremely easy and keeping efficiency high year-round.
  • Bifacial efficiency: Using our bifacial modules, a vertical system can collect up to 20–30% more energy from reflected light.
  • Space saving: Ideal for urban areas where every square meter is valuable.
Why choose vertical mounting?
Recommended Orientation

Recommended Orientation

  • East–West (Recommended): The most popular choice for vertical systems. Using bifacial modules, two production peaks are achieved: in the morning (East) and in the afternoon (West). This helps generate electricity exactly when household or business demand is highest.

  • South: Ideal for facades or noise barriers. While a vertical module facing south generates slightly less in the summer than a tilted one, it offers maximum efficiency during winter when the sun is low.

  • Facade specifics: If modules are used as exterior elements on all walls of a building, energy is generated evenly throughout the day, regardless of the sun's position, ensuring a constant power supply for the building.
