New Fire Classification Certificate Obtained for SOLID Bifacial Modules

New Fire Classification Certificate Obtained for SOLID Bifacial Modules

SoliTek has successfully obtained a new fire classification certification for its SOLID Bifacial and SOLID Bifacial Framed modules. The certification, granted under the EN 13501-1 standard, confirms compliance with stringent fire safety requirements for construction materials, making the modules an excellent choice for building-integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) applications.

Certified Fire Safety for Construction Applications

The newly received fire classification includes:

These classifications indicate that SoliTek’s modules demonstrate limited combustibility (Class B), low smoke production (s1), and minimal flaming droplet formation (d2 for the Bifacial module and d0 for the Framed module).

Importance of Fire Classification in Construction

In the construction sector, fire safety is a critical factor in material selection. The EN 13501-1 standard categorizes materials based on their reaction to fire, ensuring that products meet specific safety benchmarks. The B classification, achieved by SoliTek’s modules, is essential for façade applications where stringent fire resistance is required.

The fire classification system includes:

  • Main classification (A1 to F): Class B materials have very limited contribution to fire.
  • Smoke production (s1 to s3): s1 indicates low smoke emission.
  • Flaming droplets (d0 to d2): d0 means no flaming droplets are formed, while d2 represents some flaming droplets.

Expanding Safety Compliance for European Markets

The newly achieved certification complements SoliTek’s existing approvals, such as the DIBt certification, which is crucial for the German market. While previous certifications primarily covered modules for rooftop installations, this new classification further strengthens SoliTek’s position in the construction segment, particularly for façade applications.

A Step Forward in Sustainable Building Integration

SoliTek’s commitment to sustainability and safety is reflected in its continuous efforts to enhance product certification and compliance. By achieving EN 13501-1 fire classification, the company ensures that its modules meet high safety standards, facilitating their use in modern, fire-safe, and energy-efficient buildings.

This certification marks another milestone in SoliTek’s journey toward providing premium-quality, sustainable, and safe photovoltaic solutions for both residential and commercial construction projects across Europe.
