In a significant stride towards enhancing the synergy between Malta and Lithuania in renewable energy, SoliTek, a pioneer in the sector, was honored to host the President of Malta, Mr. George Vella, at its administrative and production facilities on February 28th.
This prestigious visit underscores the shared vision and commitment of Lithuania and Malta towards achieving net-zero targets within the renewable energy landscape. President Vella’s tour of SoliTek’s solar module manufacturing and energy storage premises marks a significant moment in fostering dialogue and collaboration between Malta and the broader European Union in renewable energy advancements.
Lithuania’s Renewable Energy Ambition
In the face of global energy challenges, Lithuania’s ambitious National Energy Independence Strategy aims for renewables to constitute 45% of total energy consumption by 2030, aligning with the European Union’s climate neutrality and green economy transition goals. SoliTek’s journey began 15 years ago with a clear focus on green energy, leading to its status as a net-zero manufacturer in 2022. Utilizing 100% renewable energy sources for module production, SoliTek has achieved emissions 400 times lower than the top five global PV manufacturers, with its products being 98.8% recyclable.
SoliTek’s commitment to sustainability has been internationally recognized, earning the prestigious Cradle to Cradle Gold certification and the SundaHus A-level sustainability rating for its solar modules – a testament to the company’s pioneering role in the sustainable energy sector. In 2022, SoliTek was lauded as the most sustainable company in Vilnius, setting a benchmark for environmental stewardship.
